FROM A SMALL TABLE
TO SOMETHING BIGGER.
Barrio Hat Drop started small in Rosemont, Illinois.
A few hats. My own small spot inside my aunt's booth at Wolff's Flea Market. And one idea: create something people could wear that actually represented where they came from.
What started at a flea market has grown into our own booth, an online store, a growing community, and hats being worn far beyond the place where we started.
AND WE'RE ONLY GETTING STARTED.

A SMALL SECTION OF ONE TABLE.
The flea market was already part of our family.
My aunt and uncle were vendors at Wolff's Flea Market. When Barrio Hat Drop was just getting started, I set up my own small spot inside my aunt's booth to sell a few hats and see where the idea could go.
That little space became our first storefront.
We sold face to face. We heard where people's families came from. We listened when someone asked for Michoacán, Guerrero, Jalisco, Durango, Zacatecas, or the state they called home.
Those conversations helped shape what Barrio Hat Drop would become.

THE SPACE GOT BIGGER.
SO DID BARRIO HAT DROP.
Barrio Hat Drop didn't grow overnight.
It happened one weekend, one customer, and one drop at a time.
OUR OWN BOOTH
As more people found our brand, we outgrew that little section. A few hats became more inventory. One table became multiple tables. Eventually, we built a booth of our own.
IN PERSON + ONLINE
Today, we still sell Barrio Hat Drop face to face. But we've also built an online home that allows someone hundreds or thousands of miles away to find something that represents where they're from.
THE WAY WE SELL HAS GROWN. THE REASON WE DO IT HASN'T CHANGED.

MEXICO ISN'T ONE STORY.
Barrio Hat Drop was created because we didn't see enough of ourselves in what we wore.
Mexican culture was represented, but too often as one broad identity.
That never felt complete to us.
Michoacán has its own story. Guerrero has its own story. Jalisco has its own story. Oaxaca has its own story.
Every state has its own towns, traditions, symbols, music, food, sayings, memories, and families.
And for those of us growing up between Mexico and the United States, those places can carry an even deeper meaning.
Maybe you were born there. Maybe your parents were. Maybe it's where your grandparents still live. Or maybe you've never lived there at all, but you grew up hearing its name your entire life.
Barrio Hat Drop was created to give those stories something you can wear.

THE STORY IS IN THE DETAILS.
We don't believe representing a place means putting its name on a blank hat and calling it finished.
Every Barrio Hat Drop design starts with a story.
We look at the symbols, places, traditions, colors, memories, and details that make somewhere recognizable to the people actually connected to it.
Then we figure out how to turn that story into something wearable.
The front embroidery. The side patches. The colors. The undervisor. The materials. The smaller details you might not notice until you have the hat in your hands.
EVERY DETAIL SHOULD HAVE A REASON FOR BEING THERE.
CRAFTED TO BE WORN
THE IDEA MATTERS.
SO DOES HOW IT'S MADE.
A meaningful design doesn't mean much if the product itself doesn't hold up.
That's why we care about the construction, embroidery, fit, materials, and finishing of every Barrio Hat Drop hat.
We want the hat to feel substantial when you pick it up, comfortable when you put it on, and detailed enough that you keep finding something new when you look closer.
Because if you're going to wear something that represents where your family comes from, it should be worthy of representing it.
MADE AROUND STORIES
RELEASED IN CHAPTERS.
Barrio Hat Drop isn't meant to become an endless catalog of random hats.
We build themed drops.
Some begin with a state. Some with a tradition. Some with a place. Some with a symbol, memory, or piece of Mexican culture we believe deserves its own moment.
Then we build the designs, photography, storytelling, and details of the release around that idea.
One drop ends. Another story begins.

FROM OUR BOOTH
TO MORE PEOPLE.
Eventually, something changed.
We started seeing Barrio Hat Drop in places where we weren't the ones handing someone the hat.
Customers posted them. Creators wore them. Artists wore them.
And something that started on a small table in Rosemont began reaching communities we had never met in person.

It wasn't only musicians.
During our first year, creators with communities of their own were also some of the first people to wear Barrio Hat Drop and introduce the brand to audiences we had never reached before.

IT'S PERSONAL.
Barrio Hat Drop means more to us than selling hats.
It represents where our families came from.
It represents the sacrifices that allowed a new generation to grow up here without having to leave that identity behind.
It represents growing up between Mexico and the United States and understanding that you don't have to choose one side of your story.
And for us personally, it represents building something of our own.
We went from a few hats in my own small spot inside my aunt's booth at Wolff's Flea Market to building our own booth, our own website, our own designs, our own drops, and our own community.
We haven't forgotten where it started.

Then came our own booth. Then the website. Then customers beyond the flea market. Then new states. New drops. Artists. Creators. Collaborations. And a community that continues to grow.
Now we're thinking about what Barrio Hat Drop can become beyond the product itself.
There are states we haven't represented yet. Stories we haven't told yet. People we haven't met yet. And ideas for Barrio Hat Drop that go far beyond where we are today.
More states. More stories. More themed drops. More collaborations. More ways to give back.
